Hope you’re having whizzpopping day!

Today is Roald Dahl Day! A day which marks the birthday of the legendary children’s author, Roald Dahl.

I cannot overstate the fact that I love Roald Dahl. I definitely intend to make Roald Dahl a staple item in our own family library.

My absolute top favourites in his collection include: ‘The BFG’ and ‘The Witches’.

I’ve always been enthralled by the magical dreams collected by ‘The BFG’ which he bottles up to blow into the ears of children while they sleep.

And I found the detailed guide in ‘The Witches’ on spotting witches absolutely fascinating (witches wear wigs to hide their bald scalps, they hide their clawed fingers with gloves, their feet have square ends with no toes and their spit is bright blue, leaving a pale bluish film on their teeth).

As part of the celebrations, roalddahlday.info has published some amazing resources for celebrating this wonderful author. I especially liked The BFG Whizzpopping Party Pack and the list of 50 Ways to Celebrate Roald Dahl Day.

P.S. My list of books I want to read to my kids someday
