Ginger exasperation

Do you put ginger in your Chinese chicken soup/stock?

I do.

The other day, hubby told me that I should't always put ginger in chicken soup.

"Why?", I asked.

"Because it gets boring after a while", quoth he.

I was flabbergasted.

"But you're SUPPOSED to put ginger in... it's an essential ingredient!", said I (somewhat ruffled)

Hubby can be so exasperating.

I know hubby will read this. So just to prove my point, I Googled "Chinese Chicken Stock" to show him how essential ginger is in making this:
